Like all products, at Ancestral Pet Food our Homestyle Pork recipe is handcrafted in small batches using only the finest pork butt and whole food ingredients approved for human consumption. Our homestyle pork recipe follows the Ancestral Diet of at least 75% USDA-certified single-source protein plus 25% fruits and vegetables.
Homestyle Pork is an ideal choice for dogs that are active or dogs that are underweight due to the higher calorie count. Sled dogs and hunting dogs are often fed a diet heavy with pork due to the higher levels of protein when compared to other meats. Pork provides dogs with high levels of vitamin B, zinc, and selenium. Vitamin B is a critical component of a dog's diet aiding in energy metabolism, heart health, red blood cell production, as well as helping keep their fur soft and their skin healthy. With no grains, soy, wheat, bone meal, or other fillers added this recipe works well for dogs with a sensitive stomach or gluten allergy.
This recipe provides 56 calories per ounce.

We recommend you use Ancestral Homestyle Meals as a topper or mix-in, adding it to your dog’s dry kibble. Mixing our food with your dog’s dry kibble is an easy way to add moisture, fat, and nutrients to your dog's diet. You can use as much or little of our food as you would like, but the total amount of food your dog consumes each day should remain the same. For example, if you add 1/2 cup of Ancestral’s Homestyle Food to your dog’s bowl, you would remove an equal amount of their dry kibble.
When Used as a Complete and Balanced Meal
When used exclusively it is important to understand that each dog is special and unique. Younger, more active dogs may require more food than is listed in the table below. While older less active dogs may require less. The table below is intended only as a feeding guideline.

It is recommended that you let the next day's meals defrost in the refrigerator overnight before serving. Also, you may slowly defrost in the microwave. For best results use defrost setting in one-minute intervals.
